Oral health
prevention
Oral health is essential for general wellbeing and quality of life. Prevention helps avoid cavities, gum disease and more complex treatments.
Why the
initial check-up matters
Your first consultation is a key step: full examination, personalised advice and a prevention plan adapted to your needs.
Regular, tailored follow-up:
the key to prevention
At Forum Dental Practice, your dentist may recommend scaling, fluoride care, sealants or closer monitoring depending on your risk profile.
How often should I have an oral check-up?
At least once a year for a check-up and professional cleaning — more often if you have a higher risk of cavities or gum disease.
Why choose our practice in Saint-Louis?
Prevention is at the heart of our approach: listening, education and modern tools to keep your smile healthy over time.
How does a prophylaxis session work?
Air polishing uses micro-particles propelled under water onto the tooth surface; it gently completes the cleaning. It removes invisible bacteria (bacterial biofilm) that scaling alone cannot reach, and delicately smooths the tooth surface to help prevent them from reattaching. It also removes food and tobacco stains to maintain the beauty of your smile and stop stains from becoming embedded over the years.
Fluoridation, applied as a topical fluoride varnish, is a preventive measure that helps reduce the risk of cavities and dental sensitivity.
